The Gold Standard

With the sharp rise of house burglaries involving stolen jewellery, the NPA have teamed up with the Police and other partners to produce a voluntary code of conduct for the face-to-face purchase of second-hand precious metal and jewellery.

The Gold StandardIt has been designed to provide protection to NPA members, aid the Police in tracing stolen items of jewellery and to encourage greater consumer confidence in trading with accredited dealers.

The introduction of the Gold Standard is a joint initiative between the NPA with Surrey Police, NAJ and is accredited by the National Police Chiefs' Council, Trading Standards Institute and National Measurement Office.

The NPA encourages its members to register for this new voluntary code.
